What Are We?

The Delaware Motor Transport Association, Inc. (DMTA) is the State Trucking Association for Delaware. We serve as the voice of trucking before the legislature, federal and state regulatory agencies, the public, and the news media. Major objectives of our association are to advocate for trucking’s interests throughout our state and promote the image of the industry.

DMTA was founded in 1938 as a trade association to advance the interests of trucking companies and allied businesses in Delaware. Our founders wanted an organization that would help its members by keeping them informed through accurate and reliable information, giving them a voice on matters affecting highway transportation, encourage and promote safety on the highways, foster a positive attitude on the part of the public toward the trucking industry, and much more.

In addition to advocating for the trucking industry, DMTA sponsors special events such such as the State Truck Driving Championships and Driver of the Month/Year Program. Members receive timely updates and important information to assist them with daily operations, and we have staff who can assist with compliance and enforcement questions. Our meetings and events provide networking and educational opportunities.

We Are Looking For New Members!
